When I’m thinking about how to get things completed, one of the things that I always hate to see is a person who is a ‘Jack of all trades’ but has mastered none. This is one of those things you have to start determining. What your capabilities are and your capacities are and what you’re an expert in, and then exceed them in that area. Most people don’t give themselves a chance to be successful at anything. They’ll start something for 30 days and say it doesn’t work. Similar to their life, they’re mastering items that are just about short term and not longevity and expertise. One of the ways for us to be our healthiest self is for us to feel like we are making an impact in an area that reflects our skills and our capabilities. This week’s goal is simple. You don’t have to be a ‘Jack of all trades’ because there are tons of people who are experts in multiple things. You have to be the one to create that area of expertise, your capabilities, and maximize your strengths in that area and let people see them. Let you shine fully through that. Then hopefully, when you’re finished on the other side of becoming the expert, you’re seen as an expert and people look for you in that area of expertise, and it gives you the acknowledgement that your impact lasts because you’re no longer a ‘Jack of all trades’, but you’ve mastered one.
