Today I’m talking about prioritizing you.
The first thing many of us say is that we don’t have time because we have so many things going on. What I would say to this is pencil in time for yourself the same way you do for other people. That may mean getting up 30 minutes earlier so you have time to meditate, pray, workout, or just do something that’s only for you. You could also go to lunch every day away from your desk either alone or with supportive friends.
For those who are possibly busy like single mothers, another opportunity is to take 5-10 minutes before or after you drop your children off or before you even start your day with your children.
The purpose of prioritizing yourself is to reflect on who you are, who you want to be, what you want to do in your life, and to just give yourself the opportunity to breathe. We are in a society that pushes busy, busy, busy, but in that effort to remain busy you forget to take time out just for you. If you haven’t already today, take a minute, step away from your desk, take a break, and just enjoy.
